Research Overview
The Cereals Breeding and Quantitative Genetics Lab aims to develop novel research methods to identify improved varieties of oats, wheat, barley, and other cereals. Through our research we are working to achieve more sustainable and resilient cropping systems for Wisconsin and the world.


Breeding Program
Oat varieties from our breeding program represent more than 85% of the market share of the oat varieties grown in the state of Wisconsin (WCIA 2018).
